Fact Check Policy — Nexeons.in

Last Updated: October 2025

At Nexeons, truth and accuracy form the foundation of our journalism.
Our Fact-Check Desk investigates suspicious or viral claims and publishes transparent reports that separate verified facts from misinformation.

1. Objective

Our aim is to counter disinformation in the public sphere by verifying claims using credible evidence and presenting results clearly labelled as True, False, or Misleading.

2. Selection of Claims

We fact-check content that:

  • Impacts public interest or policy

  • Spreads rapidly on social media or messaging platforms

  • Involves political, health, or financial information

3. Verification Process

Each claim is evaluated through a standard three-step process:

1️⃣ Source Validation: Identify the original claim and its author/source.
2️⃣ Evidence Collection: Gather official statements, documents, data and visual proof (images/videos analyzed via tools like InVID, Google Reverse Image Search).
3️⃣ Cross-Verification: Confirm facts through independent and official channels before arriving at a verdict.

4. Ratings and Verdicts

Every fact-check is assigned one of the following labels:

  • True: Fully accurate and verified information.

  • ⚠️ Misleading: Partially true or missing context.

  • False: Completely incorrect or fabricated content.

Each report includes its sources and a summary of evidence.

5. Transparency and Corrections

If an error is found in a fact-check, we publish a correction within 24 hours.
All updates are clearly timestamped and archived for public reference.

6. Funding and Independence

Nexeons Fact-Check Desk operates independently of commercial and political interests.
No sponsor or advertiser influences our verification decisions.
